Camp Comprehension: Animals is a pack to help young readers practice the important skill of close reading. This Common Core aligned pack includes 40 differentiated stories (20 animals – 2 levels for each animal). Two passages for the same animal will allow you to differentiate and meet the needs of the readers in your room!

Close Reading is an engaging way to help students work on building their comprehension. The Common Core Standards ask students to dig deeper into informational texts by answering questions and citing evidence. Use Camp Comprehension: Animals to get your kids excited about reading!

Here’s the breakdown
• 20 Reading Comprehension Passages (with two levels included for each passage to meet the needs of your students)
• 20 Days of Writing Prompts. (I’ve included primary lined paper with prompts, lined paper with prompts and blank paper if you’d prefer to let students free write each day.)

Fantastic Fluency Cards are a great activity for students to use to practice their reading fluency in a fun way!

What’s included in this pack:
• 30 Fluency Cards in Color
• 30 Fluency Cards in Black & White
• Directions for use

To assemble, simply print, laminate, cut and glue to a craft stick! Students can select a stick to answer after reading a text! Alternatively, you can print, hole-punch and pop on a binder ring.
