They say necessity is the Mother of Invention. Well, I present to you, Everyday Edits for January! No matter HOW many times we remind kiddos to use their best handwriting, use capitals, and add a period (or something else!) to the end of their sentence…they still do not always do it, right?
January Daily Sentence Edits are quick daily sentences for students to work on all of those important writing skills!
To prep, simply photocopy a book for each student. To save paper, I’ve created the Daily Edits on half-sheets.
I’ve also included an editable file for you to create your own sentences if you choose.
What’s included in the January Every Day Edits bundle:
• 20 Daily Edits for January with checklists
• Editable File to create your own sentences!
These January daily edits significantly cut down your prep time. Again, just photocopy and distribute or add to your classroom writing centers.
Other teachers’ experiences with these Daily Sentence Edits
“I was noticing that my first graders were really struggling with proper sentence writing (capital letters at the beginning of the sentence, punctuation, spacing, and writing on the lines) This resource has helped SO much, and I will be purchasing February as well!”
“Kids really need this to go along with the writing curriculum. It reinforces what you are learning and helps with them slowing down!”
“My students enjoyed these and they were just the right length and great for morning work to practice sentence writing skills!”
“My class was struggling so much with writing correct sentences, so we started doing these daily edits. I will definitely use them next year and start earlier to create a stronger habit!”
“This was exactly what I needed to help my kids remember how to start and end a sentence. We still had to correct a bunch of them but it did help them to remember what to do quicker. I will be getting more of these!”
